Once you feel comfortable enough, apologise to your ex for what you have done, and gently try to persuade them that you will never do it again. You need to make them feel like they are important to you once again and convince them that you will never repeat that type of behaviour again.

The result may not be instant here, but depending on individual circumstances, your ex may take you back, but things may be much worse and they will not consider a reunion.
