Straight To The Romantic Side Of Things
Life does not always play into our favor. Sometimes we need to take a stand for what we want, even though we are intimidated or we are fearful. A life filled with regret does not offer us a chance to correct the mistakes we’ve made. Therefore it is important that we act when we have the chance and run with our decisions as far as we can. This applies to life just as much as it applies to love.
Once upon a time you could show up under their window with and pluck away at your Ibanez acoustic guitar. You would be heralded a romantic. Now you can be charged with trespassing and be slapped with a restraining order.
Of course, there is the alternative of gathering everyone from the drummer to the fastest fingers on the Ibanez electric guitar and throwing down your version of a romantic CD. Some people call that obsessed while others call it sweet. Before you toss the Ibanez acoustic electric guitar aside and start thinking of new ideas, try for something right in the middle.
Of course, you can translate the guitars into any form of communication that you want. The key is to recognize what is over the top and what is reasonable. When you are particularly emotional you might not be thinking or acting quite as clearly as perhaps you would otherwise. Slow down. Find a middle ground. Respect your love relationship enough to let it take its natural course, including the need for breathing room.
When it comes down to it many people who are losing their love relationship resort to a single act that expresses their devotion and their desire to continue the relationship and make it better. Sometimes it works. Often it doesn’t. Regardless of how strongly you may feel, violating personal space or requests that you back off makes it seem like perhaps you are pushing the envelope of reasonable.
It can be difficult for an emotionally charged individual to draw the line between what seems like reasonable intentions and what is construed as reasonable acts. When your relationship is failing you can feel desperate. When you start acting desperate it really shows, and it can translate into a rather unsettling need for contact.
Romantic gestures are a sweet plea when a love relationship is dying. Obsessive gestures can be downright scary for the recipient. Take a step back, give it a little room. The most romantic move in the world doesn’t matter if it is never heard.
