How To Mend A Broken Heart

Mending a broken heart is much easier in theory than in practice, as I am sure you are feeling at the moment. So the most important thing to do is just take it one step at a time.

So you have broken up with your partner and you are devastated. The first question I have for you is;

Do you want your partner back?

For the purpose of this post I am going to assume the answer is yes, as I said you need to take it one step at a time and I am not going to confuse the issue by writing about 2 entirely different topics.

If you want to get your partner back the first thing you need to do is;

STOP TRYING

Stop sending texts!

Stop leaving needy messages!

Stop “accidentally” Running into him or her!

Stop hassling your ex’s friends and family!

Stop being needy!

Just think about that for a moment and think about how you would react if you had called the relationship off and your ex was doing all those silly things.

Now get yourself out a good old pen and paper, a nice piece of paper and write a simple note to your ex. This is going to sound a bit odd but you need to write a note AGREEING that your separation is for the best.

Don’t panic this is just the first thing you need to do, and notice that you may well have been fighting or arguing with your ex a lot in recent times. Check out what you are doing…. AGREEING.

This will do two things;

  1. Set a different tone on your current and future communications
  2. Help you to accept that for the moment it probably is the best for both of you to be apart. Now you can look at things from a more objective view point.

So whats next, well as I said lets take one thing at a time, so go and write out that letter, NOOOooo, do not send a text or an email, do it the old fashioned way, write it out by hand, don’t add anything else into the letter, just a simple sorry I have been hassling you, you are right it is for the best that we are separated (don’t qualify that by saying for now or anything) and then perhaps a personal touch to say something like, I hope your nan gets better, or good luck in the exams, or say hi to … for me. Just a quick closure to show that you are aware of what is going on in his or her life and that you still care about that. NO more do not elaborate, and send it TODAY.

Here is a video explaining this further.

Once you have done that here is a great book that will take you through the next steps and show you the true magic of making up.
